  In Dan at SmartHome Connect LLC, we found someone who turned a situation we thought would never work into a quick, perfectly executed job, and we’re so happy to have found him.

The backstory: We moved into a home where mounting a TV above the mantel was our only option for the space, but hated the idea of breaking our necks just trying to watch a show on a TV almost at ceiling height. We knew we wanted the MantelMount, so we ordered one from the company directly. We also paid for them to send us a “certified installer”, which turned out to just be a Dish employee. Long story short, they sent one person who arrived and “wasn’t familiar with the product”, who eventually didn’t feel comfortable installing the mount. A week later they sent someone else, who spent a lot of time prepping but ultimately told us the product couldn’t work because we had an outlet in the wrong place and the studs above our fireplace weren’t close enough together. To add to all of this, our TV and soundbar are both curved, and we were told it would be too difficult to get the soundbar up since it wasn’t straight.

Enter Dan at SmartHome Connect LLC. After a brief call, he came by, listened to the backstory, did his measurements and let us know he could move the outlet, mount the TV and likely mount the soundbar too. His familiarity with the product was immediately evident, and we felt comfortable with the plan he presented and his confidence. He even walked us through multiple options and suggestions. His estimate was also cheaper than the MantelMount “certified installer”.

Sure enough, we made an appointment for a few days later, Dan came by, and within a couple of hours he had relocated our outlet and mounted the TV and soundbar perfectly, and with 6 bolts into the studs I might add. I want to emphasize here that he verified he could do this correctly and safely, and it turned out the studs were close enough after all. During the whole process, he was efficient, courteous, and totally precise with his work. I would also add that he was clean, leaving no mess afterwards. He also helped us with the cable management and stuck around to make sure everything was working perfectly when he easily could have been on his way to the next appointment.

Put simply, Dan came in just as we thought we had a problem that wouldn’t be solved the way we envisioned and we are so happy we found him. We felt so deflated thinking we were stuck with a room that couldn’t feature a TV; the relief once it was up was immense. I cannot recommend him highly enough and would use him again in a heartbeat.
